The Hazards of Live..er..Taped…er..Live TV?: #25,205
It’s one thing to make a mistake on live TV. It’s another thing to make a mistake in tape. And it’s an entirely higher level of screw up when both happen at the same time as is the case here when CNN put out this prized piece of self-infliction by airing live a taped recording that has a huge screw up in it.
How bad is this? Well, it survived the edit bay so the editors should all be fired. And it survived to airtime which means the producers should all be fired.
Basically everyone except Brooke Baldwin and Jake Tapper should all be fired. What a disgrace. It was so bad I had to watch it again just to confirm that my eyes did indeed witness the train wreck my brain thought they witnessed. Total amateur hour time.

In the control room: “Don’t worry, nobody is watching anyway.”

Wow. That was colossally bad.

Wouldn’t seem so bad on a morning show.

Ford and Carter bonded?

I dunno. I think someone should spank Brooke Baldwin for this.

Wayne’s World, Wayne’s World….
The President’s Club is a really good book. Carter and Ford did become friends – both disliked Reagan – and complained about having to go out and make money after the presidency.

I wouldn’t say people need to get fired for this… Yes it was a mistake and yes it looked really stupid… but it’s not like anything embarrassing was actually said or something bad was shown.
I liked Brooke’s tweet: https://twitter.com/BrookeBCNN/status/410267191905632256

Think about it…a taped show airs a segment that was never supposed to be shown….not a live show where one could make a mistake in the heat of the moment…but a taped show which meant there was ample time to catch this and it had to have gone through several layers of CNN before it got aired. Yes…someone should be fired for this.

My guess is someone neglected to make an “edit” note in their production record. Later, during the edit process, this part of the recording was reviewed in fast-forward mode and the restart wasn’t noticed.

In CNN’s defense, it’s the first interesting thing that’s happened on that crappy clip show.
