  1. he better

    Or

    he is

  2. The movie Rush gets snubbed. Shame.

  3. the irony is this is just a scam to go after enemies they hate:
    http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/technology/195647-dems-demand-government-study-on-internet-hate-speech

There is plenty of what there are looking for right in their own backyard. MSNBC isn’t making apologies because of reporting errors. When you see anger, hate isn’t far behind.

  4. Oscars:
better twelve years a slave than thirty-four a butler, I guess

  5. The Academy Awards come off as very elitist.

  6. Apparently, Olby got in a twitter spat with a 13 year-old girl because of course he did.

The proper headline should be : “13 House Democrats offer bill demanding repeal of First Amendment”

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) and his ilk are perfect examples of Liberal Fascism in action. Control public speech of others. What will they want to control next?

  8. savefarris Says:

More people watched Duck Dynasty last night (8.5 million) than will watch ’12 Years a Slave’ ever.

  9. I’m still awaiting the movie about the 600,000 Irish men, women, and children the Brits sold into slavery. You’d learn about that in IRISH HISTORY MONTH… What’s that you say?

  10. “One of the most famous quotes about Fox News is Charles Krauthammer’s quip that Fox’s success was due to its appeal to a niche market: half the country.”

  11. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

This country would be better off with Lindsay Lohan as president than what we have today.

  12. Apparently today is “crack on black people day” on ICN.

More people watched Duck Dynasty last night (8.5 million) than will watch ’12 Years a Slave’ ever.

A 33% decline in the 18-49 and 38% decrease in overall viewers. #QuackIsWhack

  13. 28% not 38% this blog needs an EDIT button.

  14. Nope. it’s better without one.

  15. Apparently the younger demo wasn’t thrilled with ole Phil’s “we should marry children” attitude. Oops!

  16. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Apparently today is “crack on black people day” on ICN.

Who in the living hell is “cracking on black people?” Only certain ones here seem obsessed with race.

  17. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Apparently the younger demo wasn’t thrilled with ole Phil’s “we should marry children” attitude. Oops!

I was born in Kentucky (OK, Ft. Knox. My dad was in the Army) and even I think marrying kids is a bad idea. Also anything closer than a cousin, ‘lessin it’s a real purdy niece.

  18. ““Global warming, climate change, all these things are just a dream come true for politicians. The opportunities for taxation, for policies, for control, for crony capitalism are just immense, you can see their eyes bulge,”

    Uh, yeah, no sh!t.

    http://boston.cbslocal.com/2014/01/14/mit-professor-urging-climate-change-activists-to-slow-down/

  19. savefarris Says:

I’m guessing the demo dip had more to do with the premiere of American Idol. But this is a free country (allegedly) so speculate away!

  20. Can be me, I’ve never watched it.

  21. savefarris Says:

Since we’re comparing to last season’s premiere and all, which was in August when absolutely zero was on any other channel.

The better comparison is year-to-year. And Duck’s 8.5 million is right at the 8.62 DD premiered with in February 2013.

That’s like pointing out that MSNBC’s ratings dropped like a rock in 2013. Context (not being an election year) means everything.

  22. The Ducksters were expected to get an huge number for the premiere. You’re dreamin if you think that was a good showing.

  23. icemannyr Says:

Regardless of if you believe in climate change and global warming I agree The Weather Channel has become the PR team for them 100% existing and they do way to much coverage.

  24. a couple years ago, some prominent TV meteorologists came out against “climate change” or whatever they were calling it then. They got hammered.

  25. I’m sure A&E was hoping for a big jump based on the notoriety of the Duck Guy Controversy: More awareness of the show would mean more viewers. I suspect what they got instead was a fractured audience which retained the righties, but lost the libs. Unfortunately that’s gonna hit ya right in the demo where the libs reside.

One of the reasons reality TV is so popular is it tends to be a safe place for entire families to go, without the political ramifications involved in, say, watching Modern Family. Duck Dynasty became a political/religious ‘drawing lines’ show.

  26. savefarris Says:

The Ducksters were expected to get an huge number for the premiere.

As big as the BCS Championship last week.
Double the season finale of Monday Night Football (the finale @ Candlestick)

    Not “huge” enough for you?

  27. Nope. If all that hoopla and extra exposure barely matched last season’s premiere, and took a hit in the demo, that’s disappointing. The conventional wisdom was that DD wasn’t hurt at all, and the only question was how big the premiere was going to be. It’s a very successful cable show, and will likely continue to be, but they actually lost viewers on what was expected to be its biggest night yet.

Aside from the backlash, I think two other factors hurt Duck Dynasty: 1. A&E ran constant marathons over the holidays, satisfying anyone who may have tuned in for the first time to see what this was all about, and, 2. the public got a pretty close look at how manufactured the “reality” of the show is, including pics of most of the family looking like clean-cut middle-class folks before they grew beards and grabbed camouflage for the TV series.

  28. “Aside from the backlash, I think two other factors hurt Duck Dynasty: etc.”

^^I totally agree Joe. Reality shows run a course and networks tend to kill the goose by overexposure. Sense the show has only a few plot lines repeated every week running a show endlessly tends to bring that flaw to the fore. People are just sick of seeing and hearing the Robertson clan.

  29. savefarris Says:

^ But hey, somebody who once had coffee with Chris Christie closed a lane on a bridge for a couple of hours. BOIL HIM IN EBOLA JUICE AND BURY HIM IN THE HUDSON!!!!

  30. savefarris Says:

The head of the EPA just got caught coordinating with far-left enviro groups under the table.

Her response?: “I didn’t hear about it until just now”

    http://freebeacon.com/mccarthy-dodges-environmentalist-coordination-questions/

So we have someone who (alleges) they have no idea what’s going on as their administrative underlings abuse their power.

Sound familiar? Of course it does, because the media is ALL OVER IT!!!!

  31. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

But…but…but…Rachel sez that Christie is 3 and seven-eights times worse than bloody ‘Itler, Farris!

  32. icemannyr Says:

I have to laugh as the lower third on O’Reilly’s show for Megyn says
“Megyn Kelly FOX News Anchor” .

    “Thursday on ‘The Kelly File’
Did the administration lie about ObamaCare enrollment numbers? Plus what Benghazi means for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 ambitions. And why does President Obama want to meet with the Pope?”

How long is FNC going to keep up the farce that Megyn is news anchor doing a newscast?

  33. icemannyr Says:

    Let get his correct,
the non stop Obamacare and scandal coverage on FNC is just fine but a republican governor has a scandal and MSNBC should be doing no coverage of it?

No one complains about FNC as much as FNC and conservatives complain about how and how much the other news channels cover stores.

FNC panders to its base and MSNBC panders to its base.
FNC = All in on Obamcare and Scandals.
MSNBC = All in on Bridge Gate.

The news channels can cover whatever they want.
We have the option to choose the channel.

  34. icemannyr Says:

    Lets get this correct.😛

  35. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

How long is FNC going to keep up the farce that Megyn is news anchor doing a newscast?

How long are you going to p*ss and moan about it? Mabye they are doing it simply to annoy you.

  36. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

By the way, I’m doing my taxes. Give me a wide berth.😯

  37. icemannyr Says:

“How long are you going to p*ss and moan about it?”

Till farris stops complaining about Bridge Gate?😛

  38. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Bridgegate sounds like a British town. My Mom and Dad lived in Harrogate when he was stationed over there. Beautiful town full of very nice people.

  39. savefarris Says:

As I pointed out to joe the other day, not all scandals are created equal. A level 2 scandal should receive level 2 coverage. A level 8, a level 8 and so on.

Bridgegate, which clearly a scandal, A) doesn’t reach Christie and B) rates a 1.5. So, ice, that doesn’t justify Level 15 coverage.

Meanwhile Obamacare and all it’s assorted offshoots (if you like your dr, I spent $600 million and all I got was this geocities page, death spirals, enrolling=shopping cart) easily add up to a 6.5-7.

FNC’s coverage might in a vacuum seem excessive … except it actually is in a vacuum because the other networks are on radio silence. If none of the other networks were covering Bridgegate, then MSNBC would be justified in picking up the slack. But that’s just not the case now, is it?

  40. savefarris Says:

By the way, I’m doing my taxes.

He’s not really doing his taxes: he’s just trying to throw the NSA and Lois Lerner off the scent.

  41. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

By the way, I’m doing my taxes.

He’s not really doing his taxes: he’s just trying to throw the NSA and Lois Lerner off the scent.

I wouldn’t mind getting to know Lois Griffin. She’s cute, for a Toon.

  42. I’m, er, doing my taxs too.

  43. Yeah, that’s what I’m doing.

  44. A Republican frontrunner for president is one heartbeat away from an abuse of power which put lives in danger in New Jersey during the highest terror threat day of the year; 20 people are being served subpoenas right now; and Chris Christie sorted sounded today like he took himself out of the presidential race.

    That’s a real story.

  45. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Immediately preceding and during the highest terror threat day in 2012. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2014/01/15/Devastating-Benghazi-Timeline-Reveals-Obama-MIA

    Four dead.

  46. Yes. Benghazi has been covered endlessly, including by a network which ignores all the answers to their questions – including the most recent report – then demands answers. Nobody said it’s not a real story; nobody sane thinks it hasn’t been covered extensively. The rightwing spin that it hasn’t been covered enough, and nothing has been answered about the event…is campaign bollocks.

  47. “@LarrySabato: No real political impact from Sen. Tom Coburn(R-OK) retirement. Either Likely R or Safe R in Nov. special election.”

@LarrySabato: Why so sure OK Senate seat stays R? Obama got 33% in 2012, carried nothing in state. POTUS less popular now.

  48. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Sure, Joe. It’s all right wing spin. People were killed, in some cases tortured, and the cynical left treats it as partisan politics. If would be nice, though, if Obama and Madam Clinton would come clean on the lack of security. The truth would shut down at least two lanes on her Bridge to Tomorrow.

  49. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Larry, Obama is about as popular in Oklahoma as a turd in a punch bowl.

  50. The CIA was trying to downplay the presence of their installation there, and it’s a known fact that Amb. Stevens felt the same way about not seeming “overpowering” in a country he was trying to ingratiate himself in. I realize righty blogs and FNC don’t want to report these sad facts. They’d rather bleat endlessly that somehow Obama and Clinton screwed the CIA on security because they’re super awful terrible people. That’s not news. It’s campaigning against a presumed Democratic opponent in 2016.

  51. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

It is a well known fact that there is at least one CIA agent in every embassy and consulate. But, it’s all the fault of “the righty blogs and FNC” that Obama and Clinton seem not to have a care in the world about it. And Stevens is conveniently unavailable for comment, so the only word that we have on his views are from the usual suspects. However, the Ambassador was sent from the secure compound in Tripoli to an unsecure one in Benghazi. On September 11th. And during the attack, Obama was taking a bubble bath with his froggy and Madam Clinton was busy staring at the bottom of a glass.

  52. The report. It’s not pretty..a lot went wrong, but it’s not the simplified “Obama and Clinton murdered Americans” crap FNC dishes.

    1.usa.gov/Kj0nSf

  53. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Nobody is accusing them of murder, and definitely not FOX. It was, however, a case of dereliction of duty that resulted in people getting killed. However, I’d look into that obsession that FOX is behind all of the evil in the world. It tends to make the subscribers to that “conspiracy theory” look ridiculous.

  54. More deflection BS. FNC and the rest of the rightwing media blowhards have been hollering “left 4 good Americans to die” for over a year. It’s not true, and the exploitation of this terrible tragedy has virtually destroyed any attempt to target the real mistakes that really need to be addressed. That report attempts to do this.

  55. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

    More deflection BS.

Yes, Joe, that is exactly what you are trying to do. It gets tedious. It’s always the vast right wing conspiracy. You aren’t worth dealing with tonight. It’s late and I need to head to bed.

  56. Chris Matthews on the Senate report:

Point 1: What Susan Rice said on Meet The Press about the attack on the Benghazi facility was true. It was a spontaneous, opportunistic attack that had been triggered by a similar earlier attack in Cairo that day. An attack triggered, they suspect, by that anti-Islamic movie made by some character out in California.

Point 2: The failure to use the word “terrorist” was a decision of the CIA, who wrote the talking points..the ones used on Meet The Press. The CIA – including its Director, David Patraeus – uses the word “extremist”, not “terrorist” to mean part of a terrorist organization. It was his and the Agency’s word choice, not Rice’s.

Point 3: The failure to mention al Qaeda on Meet The Press tracked the talking points handed to Ambassador Rice by the CIA. She said what the CIA told her to say. She didn’t mention al Qaeda because they made it a point to take it out of the talking points. They..at the Agency, made that decision.

So, somebody out there on the right tonight owes Miss Rice an apology, don’t ya think? Don’t ya think?
    —————————————————————————————–
My (Joe’s) conclusion: This was a witchhunt that made a mockery of a real tragedy in which good people died. And it’s on Fox News, Darrell Issa, and every other media shouter and politician who used this crap as a campaign tactic.

  57. Susan Rice, as the UN Ambassador is a member of the State Department. Her boss, was Hilary Clinton. The CIA may have written some of the talking points but even you aren’t enough of a fool to believe that Hilary Clunton didn’t SEE those talking points and APPROVE of them. Also, there is no way in hell that Susan Rice went on the Sunday shows just because there was no one else to do it. Hilary knew her as* would be in a sling if she went out there to spout that crap that she knew was a lie.

The testimony given said everyone knew it was an terrorist attack right away. Gregory Hicks who was on the scene said they all knew it was an attack. Are you not going to believe someone who was there? Chrissy Mathews has an agenda just as does Fox so you need to go to the document yourself and read it and not just believe all news reports.

Also, isn’t it amazing that in the whole report that Hilary Clinton’s name is not mentioned 1TIME. Just ask Diane Feinstein about that little fact. The only mention of Hilary is in the Republucan addition to the report. How in god’s name do you have the head of the State Department not even mentioned in report? Maybe, just maybe, because this report came from the SENATE Intelligience Committee? Ya think they got somebody they need to protect?

    http://www.intelligence.senate.gov/benghazi2014/benghazi.pdf

  58. savefarris Says:

A Republican frontrunner for president is one heartbeat away from an abuse of power

Then it should receive the same level of coverage that Bill Richardson received in 2008 when charges of corruption sprang up against him. i.e. 30 seconds in the R block.

  59. “How can we run a country if entrepreneurs don’t hire?” he said. “And how can we redistribute if there’s no wealth?”

Anyone ponder a guess who made THAT comment recently?

  60. savefarris Says:

A Republican frontrunner for president is one heartbeat away from an abuse of power

So we need all-hands-on-deck coverage for a story at least 3 times removed from the presidency but cricket-level coverage for a story about the actual presidency.

    Got it!

  61. “So, somebody out there on the right tonight owes Miss Rice an apology, don’t ya think? Don’t ya think?”

Uh no. Blaming a youtube video was ignorant and insane. Actually, it was political. It was a typical lefty move. A terrorist attack occurs and it’s not because of the terrorists, it’s because of a guy who made a movie that hurt feelings.

And, Matthews is a sycophantic nut. That’s all.

  62. Oh, and Hi Joe. 🙂

  63. The new “The New MSNBC.com” commercial is awesome. It’s got g@y marriage, Wendy Davis, climate change, Global Warming, Al Shartpton, gun control.

  64. it’s really hard to pick who is the most nauseating loon on MSNBC… so many to choose from. Let’s hope Rosemary’s baby has something better to offer than DAILY-KOS TV has now.

  65. icemannyr Says:

Does anyone except the NRA and its supporters really care that Harvey Weinstein is going to produce an anti NRA movie?

FNC complaining about the hypocrisy and double standard on its news and talk shows that a guy who produces movies with gun violence doing an anti NRA movie seems to be much to do about nothing.

The NRA and FNC would be better off ignoring Harvey Weinstein.

  66. savefarris Says:

For everyone who last week said the “I didn’t know…” excuse wasn’t good enough: http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/obama-claims-ignorance-extent-nsa-surveillance

Of course, Christie ISN’T the only person in NJ who has authority to close a bridge. Obama IS the only person who can authorize the NSA to act in such a manner.

Oh, and Chrstie fired everyone involved. Obama didn’t discipline anyone AT ALL.

But he’s not thinking about maybe running for President in 3 years, so I guess it’s not news…

  67. Everyone involved? Gov. Christie’s press secretary is still employed.
    http://www.msnbc.com/the-last-word/watch/emails-from-the-christie-gang-116208195726

  68. The NRA and FNC would be better off ignoring Harvey Weinstein.

Like ICE is better off ignoring FOX. Give me a break, solidified h2o.

  69. Come on you know FNC is a big NRA supporter.
Every show is doing the how dare Harvey Weinstein do an anti NRA movie! Oh the hypocrisy and double standard!😛

  70. “Oh the hypocrisy and double standard!”

That’s would be someone saying its best to ignore something by someone who is obsessed by something. We need an intervention. Get out and see the world. Me, I’m at the dentist.

  71. Liberals aren’t content to dominate with their world view. They won’t let anyone else present theirs.
    http://variety.com/2014/film/spotlight/right-wing-docs-dont-feel-the-fest-love-1201061557/

Again, BIG BROTHER won’t be a conservative, he will be a liberal.
Their hate for FOX comes from their inability to suppress it. God knows Obama tried in the first months of his administration.

  72. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-25771510

No, scientists are not baffled. 100% agree that the exhaust from our cars have put the sun to sleep. Liberals say that’s proven science.

  73. How long are you going to p*ss and moan about it? Mabye they are doing it simply to annoy you.

He’ll “p*ss and moan” as much as he wants. Last I checked, this was a blog about cable news. The topic of Megyn Kelly’s status as a “news anchor” is a cable news topic and one worthy of discussion.

  74. The big NBC News shake-up is about to happen.
The division boss Deborah Turness told her staff in a memo Friday morning that Alex Wallace was being put in charge of the Washington bureau — and that Wallace will be the NBC News deputy boss.

  76. I like the part where Rachel beat Megyn in the demo again Tuesday. There is hope for humanity.

  77. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

So, somebody out there on the right tonight owes Miss Rice an apology, don’t ya think? Don’t ya think?

No. But Obama owes the country one for putting this idiot in a position of responsibility. And, now she’s National Security Advisor. I guess Malia and Sasha turned him down.

  78. “I like the part where Rachel beat Megyn in the demo again Tuesday.”

^^That’s the ‘Chris Christie GWB’ effect. Demo ratings have gone up for MSNBC since the GWB story broke. I don’t expect it to last but it shows when the right story (like a big GOP scandal) is hot liberals tune in to watch the circus.

  79. Multiple arctic blasts are set to reign bitter cold weather across much of the country through the end of the month.

I’m officially rooting for global warming.

  80. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

    We are at 12°.

  81. Interesting summary via CNN:

DEVELOPING … OBAMA ANNOUNCES MODEST CHANGES TO NSA DATA COLLECTION … Under pressure as a result of last year’s classified leaks of U.S. surveillance, President Barack Obama unveiled new guidance for intelligence-gathering and reforms intended to balance the nation’s security needs with concerns over privacy and civil liberties. Obama outlined a series of steps that would change some aspects of NSA collection of phone records and other information but generally leave intact the core and function of existing programs.

  84. icemannyr Says:

    Friday on ‘The Kelly File’
Anthony Weiner on the upcoming midterm elections.😛

  85. Think you spelled the last word wrong.

  86. Typical Obama speech today:
Give both sides of an issue, then punt the hard part to somebody else to decide. Slacker-in-Chief.

  87. Not sure there’s anybody any more insufferable on TV than Piers Morgan. He’s whining because hunters take pictures with the game they/we kill. He knows as much about hunting and conservation as I do about tea time and cricket. I don’t profess to know about those things so he should shut the **** up about the things he knows nothing about.

  88. icemannyr Says:

Tonight on Hannity “Sarah Palin takes on parents gone wild.”
Uh really? What’s that saying about people in glass houses?

  89. “What’s that saying about people in glass houses?”

Huh? You may not like Palin but that statement doesn’t make sense.

  90. Yeah, that doesn’t make sense. There is no evidence to support that the Palins (including Bristol) are bad parents. And no, a teen getting pregnant does not qualify mom and dad as negligent.

  91. icemannyr Says:

I’m just saying it is ironic she’s on for a segment called “Parenting 101”.
Anyway, I missed Megyn and Anthony, how long before they started yelling?

  93. Everything you need to know about what a pile of histrionic garbage The Kelly File is, can be summed up in this phrase: “Tonight’s guest, Anthony Weiner”.

  94. icemannyr Says:

The only reason she had him on was to start a fight with a liberal and since the interview was taped earlier that’s being saved for Monday.

Had had to laugh at the end of the segment when she said this “I never understood how he could show such hubris on the air with me and others when he was walking around harboring such a secret. How is that possible?”

I can’t understand how someone can do all that theatrics and anti liberal segments on a TV show and have the hubris to claim she’s a straight news anchor doing a newscast.

  95. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

I can’t understand how someone can do all that theatrics and anti liberal segments on a TV show and have the hubris to claim she’s a straight news anchor doing a newscast.

She does it to drive the Left batsh*t. And it’s working.

  96. “straight news anchor ”

I never thought that I’d say it, but we’d be better off with Dennis Freaking Kucinich as President.🙄

  98. Dennis could at least make a decision… by himself… packed with dynamite.

  99. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Dennis could at least make a decision… by himself… packed with dynamite.

At least he wasn’t entirely crooked like Mr. Ears. Obama makes James Traficant look honest.
