  1. Richard Sherman is my new favorite football player. Wouldn’t you agree, Spud?😛

  2. Starting off a clean cable news thread with a non cable news comment? Who do you think you are… ME?

  3. Read Spud’s Twitter feed and you’ll understand why I made that comment.

  4. You play with fire, Andy. I would never be so bold.😉

  5. Here’s another unrelated cable news item: It is eagle watching days in my neck of the woods. We went out this weekend to an area that is known to support the eagle population during the winter because there is open water just below a dam and we saw 27 eagles. About half were full grown and the other half were young ones that have not gotten their white heads yet.

    What an amazing sight!

  6. Chris Christie and MSNBC: new try to make friends with the devil, Governor, he is not your friend.

  7. “new” should be “never”

And Pam, I always get excited when the buzzards come back to Hinkley.

  8. icemannyr Says:

Is FBN doing their annual mocking of CNBC because FBN is live and CNBC is on tape for the MLK holiday?

FBN might want to lay off the other business network mocking considering FBN preempted their 9pm-11pm prime time shows last week for an auto auction.

  9. “@Mediaite: Obama: ‘Some Folks Who Just Really Dislike Me’ ‘Don’t Like the Idea of a Black President’ http://bit.ly/1fQuRK9”

Well, I suppose, I can come up with something else, but as long as it makes him feel better.

Creating websites and blogs to defend the mothership is pretty bizarre you have to admit.

  12. ‘Mothership’

    >drink<

  13. 10 DATA ‘Mothership’, ‘Straight news anchor’, ‘Cable news on a cable news blog’

As an old BASIC programer, a couple more DATA STATEMENTS, and my computerized liberal commenter is finished.

Faux Obama hater Jesse Watters, who donated to the Obama campaign during the last election, is doing another bash Obama segment on The Factor asking celebs about the President.

  19. So you guys admit that FNC is a political operation run by a partisan hack since you’re comparing FNC to the actions of politicians….. good to know.

  20. icemannyr Says:

Even Megyn’s fans are not happy that she had Anthony Weiner on.
There was no reason to have him on the show except for her to promote that it was going to be a fight with a liberal,
which is exactly what she did for the second part of the interview that is being broadcast tonight.

When’s the last time she had a fight with a conservative?

It’s no different then when conservatives complained that Alex Jones was put on Pier’s show to act crazy and make a fool of himself.

  21. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

So you guys admit that FNC is a political operation run by a partisan hack since you’re comparing FNC to the actions of politicians….. good to know.

No, Andy. We were talking about an abuse of power by an elected official wanting information on American citizens.

Fox is a private corporation. And, if you are buying into the “political operation” crap, you are buying into the sucker’s game. It’s all about ratings.

Even the upper management at MSNBC doesn’t buy into their political gimmick. They put on some of the bomb throwers to get eyeballs. Occasionally, one of the carnival geeks goes overboard like Bashir, and he has to go.

But the hatred at the top between the network heads is nothing more than the staged crap like in the heyday of professional rasslin’.

  22. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

When’s the last time she had a fight with a conservative?

That was when she knocked Newt Gingrich out. I knew that the Pillsbury Doughboy couldn’t take a punch.

Correction – Obama trying to blame all his problems on race. Eventually, his black half and white half are going to end up in a knock-down, drag-out fight. The results won’t be pretty: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxr9nryJqqg But, the country will get a civics lesson on the 25th Amendment.

  30. icemannyr Says:

It’s a shame we can’t have a conversation here without childish mocking.

Megyn’s segment on Dawn Zimmer was a joke.
First Meygn whines that Zimmer won’t go on her show as she shows some producer harassing Zimmer for a interview as she walks into a building.

Next she has a Republican NJ Assembly man to complain about the people doing the investigation.

Last on is republican Brent Bozell to bash Dawn Zimmer and complain about the Chris Christie coverage.
Please don’t tell me this is something that a real newscast does.

  31. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Ice, Zimmer can’t even keep her stories straight. Was it her not endorsing him? Or was it the redevelopment? Either Dawn Zimmer is a world-class flake looking to insert her into the story, or she is being used. She needs to sit down with a lawyer, so that he can advise her. Should she make comments to investigators, under oath, that later turn out to not exactly be true, she’ll be the one in trouble.

  32. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

It’s a shame we can’t have a conversation here without childish mocking.

Who’s mocking? I am pointing out the silliness of things. Nothing personal. I think that you are an OK guy.

  33. Chris Christie is screwed. Dawn Zimmer has the worst thing you can ask for in an accuser: A flat, unassailable conviction that she’s telling the truth; and bring it on if you don’t believe her. The only way her story turns out to be false is if she’s mental and dreamed it up. That woman believes what she’s saying.

  34. icemannyr Says:

That’s why there is an investigation and let the facts come out.
What Megyn did was a joke. Two Republican guests on and no liberal to talk about the story.

She follows up that segment with Actress Maria Conchita Alonso who endorsed a Tea Party candidate then claims she was forced to resign from a play.
She quit she was not fired.
Again she only gets one side of the story and does not speak to anyone else.

Now it’s time for Megyn to bash the NY Governor. Click

  40. the point Nixon is to attack with the same sword, making the same motion, in the same manner — out of curiosity that it might, in an infinite universe, draw blood.

  41. And the counterpoint is to belittle every truthful statement against your little princess as “we’ve heard it before”. The truth about that ridiculous show Megyn Kelly runs does not become less truthful with repetition.

    The results in 2011:
In 2011, Lewis mounted a challenge against incumbent Republican Dawn Addiego for her state Senate seat, but Guadagno ruled that he did not meet the residency requirement to run, which prompted political outrage, and the case ended up going to a federal appeals panel, which ruled against Lewis, so he was unable to run anyway.

The federal appeals panel ruled that he didn’t meet the residency requirement. For them to try and link this to Christie is pure idiocy.

Ice means well, Larry. Unlike some with an absolutely unhealthy obsession with FOX, and that anyone who dares disagree is somehow evil.

  45. Y’all could try letting Ice have his say without a string of comments giving him crap for daring to do so. Which do you think is more annoying to the average ICN reader: Ice commenting on The Kelly File, or half-a-dozen responses whining about it?

  46. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Ice can speak for himself. We are simply having a back and forth on it.

But, at least you are holding off on the name calling. I do respect you for that. It’s the insults and name calling that really annoys the average ICN reader.

  47. Yes, your reference to “bit you on the ass” was intended as a term of endearment, with no hint of profanity or insult whatsoever. I’m sure the 5 people bothering to read this stupidity are grateful.

  48. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

It was a moment of candor and truth. Refreshing in this day and age. And very mild considering what has come from you in the past.

  49. ^ Nice deflection. You should work for FNC. Wait…

  50. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Joe, out of respect for Spud, I am going to suggest that we both take a step back from the abyss. I can see where this is going, and it isn’t good. I’m not suggesting not post, just a mutual agreement to hold off going at each other.

  51. I like ICE. I won’t tease him any more. Just inspiring him to come up with some new angles. ICE, you got a lot to work with, the saying what she’s doing part is the best stuff. I learn something from that… We all know she’s up to more than straight news. Keep reporting, buddy, And don’t forget to aim your sword elsewhere. Makes Larry happy when you do… and talk in the third person.

  52. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

I like Ice, as well. He’s a good kid.

  53. So…I am watching MJ this morning and the talk came up about income inequality. The first 3-4 graphs they put up showed income inequality WORLDWIDE. Then they switched over to graphs about the US without really making it clear that they were making that switch.

I have no problem with the income inequality talk BUT I do have a problem with world averages somehow being compared to the US. Of course the rich are going to look even worse when you favor in the wages of folks in Africa, India, Indonesia, etc. That seems disingenuous to me but I guess when you want to make a point a little muddying of the waters helps.

Bret Bair did quite an interesting segment on income inequality on Special Report last night that ONLY talked about US statistics which is more pertinent to any discussion we should have politically here.

It seems that the Obamas did not want the fact that they hobnobbed with the 1% in OUR country talked about in ANY way since guests at Michelle’s birthday party couldn’t tweet or take pictures. Maybe they had people sign non-disclosure agreements like Justin Bieber does when he has a party!

No problem with THAT group of Democrats being part of the 1% since they have the correct THOUGHTS about issues, it’s just the nasty 1% of Republicans that are the REAL problem because they have the WRONG thoughts on issues! Hypocrisy anyone?

  54. As expected Ezra Klein is leaving WP to start his own news website. With 30+ employees it will need major funding. Who that is hasn’t been announced yet. It’s a longshot but I wonder if NBC News might not be one of the backers? It does somewhat explain why Klein hasn’t been given a program on MSNBC despite the rumors he was in line for a show.

  55. “NBC News might not be one of the backers”

^^I probably should have said NBC Universal instead of NBC News as I was thinking of the Swisher/Mossberg Re/code site that was announced recently when I made that comment.

  56. savefarris Says:

It’s a longshot but I wonder if NBC News might not be one of the backers?

I doubt it. MSNBC just re-launched their website and if Ezra was going to be a key part, they’d have held off and included his piece as part of the launch.

I’m guessing he’ll be quasi-independent with the backing of charitable grants that eventually make their way back to Center for American Progress (i.e. Soros).

    OR…

Now that I think about it, given his “Most Favored Pundit” status of this Administration, I’d bet his project becomes an offshoot of OFA.

  57. “I doubt it. MSNBC just re-launched their website and if Ezra was going to be a key part, they’d have held off and included his piece as part of the launch.”

^^I don’t think it would be a part of MSNBC.com but rather that NBC Universal might be part of the funding in the same way they did Re/code.

  58. It was NBC News, Fritz. You and Bill-O are right.

  60. GOOD STUFF, Pam!

  61. I disagree with your sentiments, Pam. If anything, conventional wisdom would tell you that income inequality would be even worse in India and Indonesia. IF the income gap is greater in the United States than in a handful of countries we consider “third world”, that’s a HUGE problem.

Are these people fools? Race has nothing to do with it. But, claiming to be looking out for racial minorities as an excuse is odious on so many levels. The union is ran by sick bastards, with absolutely no moral compass.

  74. Teachers unions need to be reigned in. It is time for some common sense and it is time for citizens to start demanding it.

Race has also reared its ugly head in regards to Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina. Blacks can not have one of “their own” have any independent thought.

Could Al Roker be on his way out at Today? That’s what Richard Johnson posits at Page Six. Sam Champion made an appearance on the show last week, which is making Roker and his people nervous, for obvious reasons. This should be fun to watch. “Just when you thought that NBC suits couldn’t create a situation worse than Ann Curry’s bungled, forced exit two years ago, the showdown between Roker and Champion threatens to do just that or worse,” Johnson writes. The current weatherman sees his current $8 million per year contract expire later this year and, although he does have some leverage because he’s loved by the viewers, that’s a significant chunk of change…
