  1. Pelosi: Obamacare allows workers to ‘escape’ their jobs

Just in case you wondered what these people really think.
Note: working taxpayers fund the escape, but what the heck.

  2. savefarris Says:

Larry, we’ve had just about enough of you only focusing on the negatives of Obamacare. Why don’t you highlight some of the success stories that are going on?

    http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-obamacare-patients-20140205,0,1675336,full.story#axzz2sS6Xcoul

    See? Was that so hard?

  3. I am so ashamed.

  4. Billo thinks his SB interview with the POTUS will go down in history as how an interview should be done. Maybe; but not for the reason Billo thinks.🙂

  5. I always enjoy the DWS/Andrea Mitchell chit chats. Hide the cheese! And Chris Christie! DWS ranting about Republicans not wanting to be seen with Christie. Obvious follow up question for anybody with an ounce of journalistic integrity would be about D candidates not wanting to be seen with Obama. But this is what andrea Mitchell has become.

  6. savefarris Says:

fritz, when you’re right, you’re right.

O’Reilly should have been MORE aggressive and challenged Obama on his plainly obvious falsehoods. (‘not a smidgen’, ‘holding everyone accountable’, ‘it’s all your fault’)

    Russert would have.

  7. Russert would have played back the tape from the last Super Bowl interview where Obama lied like a rug to Bill about “You can keep you plan, doctor”, job, money… etc., but O’Reily too nice a guy.

    You mean like this?

  12. “fritz, when you’re right, you’re right.”

“O’Reilly should have been MORE aggressive and challenged Obama on his plainly obvious falsehoods.”

^^I don’t think you got my point farris. I never saw the interview and don’t really care what Billo asked or what answers he got. My assumption is that the interview was all about Bill.

That’s why Obama likes being interviewed by Bill. He can’t help but look good when the interviewer thinks he’s much smarter than the POTUS. My only point was that there is no bigger ego on TV than Bill O’Reilly. Humility is just not a concept he can envision.

  13. savefarris Says:

He can’t help but look good

Now I KNOW you didn’t watch the interview. Even his most stalwart defenders aren’t claiming he came out of it looking good.

  14. ^never saw the interview. Doesn’t care about the interview. Knows all he needs to know about the interview. Happy to tell you🙂

    Sand+bucket+head=knowledge

  15. That ^ not intended for you Farris. Please stay out of my field of fire.

  16. Dud, flop, fizzle, flame-out, bomb… Oh, I could go on.
    THE TICKER
Gabriel Sherman‘s Roger Ailes bio “The Loudest Voice in the Room” has sold 6,374 copies, according to Nielsen BookScan. The book debuted at #9 on the NYT Best-Sellers list on Feb. 2, dropped to #12 on Feb. 9 and is off the Feb. 16 list.

  17. icemannyr Says:

O’Reilly making the interview about O’Reilly and whining about how the other media reviewed the interview was a given.

  18. Good golly, how did the Gabriel Sherman book start out at #9? Did most of the books get sold in the first week?

Or does the NYT just put books on the list because hey hope with the hype the book will sell?

  19. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

the interviewer thinks he’s much smarter than the POTUS.

A common dog is smarter than Obama. I will believe different when the oedipal releases his grades.

  20. “Even his most stalwart defenders aren’t claiming he came out of it looking good.’

^^ That’s what I’m saying farris. Only O’Reilly would have the gall to say his interview was “historic” and actually believe what he was saying.🙂

  21. Fritz, well, we have House Republican’s asking today for a special prosecutor of IRS based on Obama answers to Bill, and we have Senate leaders today demanding Benghazi answers based on Obama answers to Bill — that ain’t chopped liver.

  22. If Republicans take the Senate, there will be a special prosecutor and there will be people going to jail.

  23. ^ That would be great!

  24. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

there will be people going to jail.

If only two of them were that rat-eared liar Obama and his toady Holder.

  25. icemannyr Says:

How much coverage has FNC given they story that Texas GOP leaders do not want to appear in public with NJ Governor Christie during his Texas visit?

They did multiple segments on Democrats avoiding public appearances with Obama.

  26. Not sure FOX has much interest in protecting Christie, ICE. I just think they don’t have that much interest in him at all, unlike your fixated favorite.

  27. Arrested for the January Milwaukee Stradivarius violin theft, alleged thief Universal Knowledge Allah was reported to have denied any knowledge.

  28. Universal Knowledge Allah and Supreme Solar Allah were both convicted of slashing tires on vans that were contracted for by the Republicans in Milwaukee County to transport disabled and elderly people to the polls.

Supreme Soar Allah is the son of Congresswoman Gwen Moore of Milwaukee. Supreme Solar Allah found out about the vans from his mother. That’s one great group of family and friends we have in the Milwaukee area!

  29. Only 113,000 jobs added in January. But, but, but the unemployment rate FELL to 6.6%!

Watch what the headline will be!

Plus everyone thought the December numbers of 74,000 would be significantly revised upwards. Not so much, they were revised upwards only 1,000 to 75,000.

We are well on our way to having a lost decade just like Japan.

  30. I was watching a bit of Chuck Todd and AJAM this morning, and nobody could sugarcoat the job numbers; they suck so bad. Best they could do was blame cold weather. The only tactic Democrats have left is to divide people against each other and they will put all their effort into that even as their agents like MSNBC overreach.

  31. savefarris Says:

  35. “I guess Kate is not leaving New Day to go back to covering politics.”

^^I really like Kosinski and felt she was wasted at NBC being used mostly as the designated missing/killed white woman/child reporter.

Hopefully CNN can make better use of her skills.

  36. savefarris Says:

The Olympic Opening Ceremonies are occurring right now. But, NBC’s not showing it until tonight. Presumably, because they have a longstanding company policy of not airing any audio/video that hasn’t been edited.

  37. My understanding is NBC is not streaming the opening ceremonies either as the claim is it will make no sense without commentary… unlike that thing they sweep with a broom.

CNN’s New Daytime Show Gets a Name: ‘@THISHOUR’
CNN’s new 11amET show officially has a name: “@THISHOUR.” The 11amET show, anchored by John Berman and Michaela Pereira, debuts Monday as part of CNN’s revamped daytime lineup. “@THISHOUR” replaces “Legal View with Ashleigh Banfield,” which slides to the 12pmET hour. CNN’s 1pmET hour, anchored by Wolf Blitzer, also gets a makeover and a new name as part of the changes — beginning Monday, the show will be called “Wolf”.

  48. Good riddance to Banfield, the only slightly less irritating doppelgänger of Nancy Grace.

  49. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

They’d be better off replacing Wolf Blitzer with Warner Wolf.

Stephen Jin-Woo Kim admitted to leaking a top-secret intelligence report on North Korea to Rosen, who was targeted by the Department of Justice in relation to the leak investigation, The Washington Post reports: The plea agreement calls for Kim to serve 13 months in prison, far less jail time than recommended under federal guidelines.

I believe NBC did the same thing with the summer Olympics.
The opening ceremony was not shown live however they did stream the closing ceremony live without commentary or the option of English commentary from the host country.

  54. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

I imagine that English commentary was available from the last Summer Olympics, considering it was from England. To be honest, I don’t remember the last time that I watched either the Summer or Winter Olympics. The coverage was always crappy, no matter which network covered it.

  55. savefarris Says:

The coverage was always crappy, no matter which network covered it.

Unless you remember Los Angeles in 1984 or Nagano in 1998, then the only network you remember is NBC. They’ve held the Olympic rights for that long.

The only one that stands out in my mind is ABC with Jim McKay. I don’t think that I’ve watched it since the Winter Games in ’76.

  59. One can hate what Obama does without hating Obama just as one could hate what Bush did without hating Bush.

    On second thought.

  60. I have to admit I really liked the Chinese and Montreal ceremonies. I have no idea what the Irish would do, but it probably would overload emergency rooms.

  61. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

I have no idea what the Irish would do, but it probably would overload emergency rooms.

Well, they got through this without any fights breaking out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiQz3-joAQ8

  62. icemannyr Says:

You avoided my point about how Varney was nasty to the liberal female guest.

FNC gets all cranky when a conservative female is given a hard time on MSNBC yet it’s ok for their networks do to the same to liberal females and no one cares.

  63. savefarris Says:

The coverage limitations of the Olympics are infuriating.

If it’s a news/sports event, then the coverage blackout should only extend to the length of the event. (Not airing it live? Not our problem!)

If it’s a TV show, then ESPN should pull all their personnel and refuse to allow the words “Winter” and “Olympics” to be uttered. No other network would be expected to hype another network’s show.

  64. You should never be rude to a guest ICE, but challenging them is okay as long as it’s not taken too far. Likewise, a guest should not be overly combative. Those are the rules in the Kelly home though the dog can’t be trusted to not bite.

  65. savefarris Says:

I have no idea what the Irish would do

Ice, simply challenging someone on their viewpoint on an issue, or a false statement, is NOT being nasty. It is being a journalist. And, someone disagreeing with someone politically does not make them a “hater.” I disagree with your politics, but I don’t hate you. You seem a bit naive about some things; but, other than that, seem like a nice guy.

  68. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

What female Republican/Conservative was interviewed on MSNBC and treated similiarly, that FNC complained about?

    I don’t recall that story.

  71. icemannyr Says:

Some of you seem to be missing my point. I’m not saying hosts and guests can’t have disagreements.
I’m just saying Varney was being very smarmy with Julie Roginsky and did not have to be so sarcastic to start the segment.

While I can’t find an FNC segment on this yet,
    Conservatives complained about this,
    http://michellemalkin.com/2013/10/15/msnbc-anchor-trifecta-rep-marsha-blackburn-accused-of-being-unpatriotic-taking-hostages-and-pushing-people-off-a-cliff/

  72. imnotblue Says:

    @ ice

    A few points:

    1) So you can’t prove your statement, or provide any actual evidence?
    2) Do you think that Conservatives were right to complain about the interview MSNBC conducted? Did you complain?
    3) Isn’t there a difference in how one treats a pundit, and how one treats a Congressperson?

  73. TRMS has been doing some excellent reporting on the West Virginia pollution scandal. I don’t know if CNN or FNC have been doing much, on this story, after the first few days but I don’t watch enough to judge. Maybe Ice will know.

Maddow has been critical of both the state and federal government response to what has been called one of the largest environmental disasters in US history. It surprises me that the Republicans seem fixated on fake scandals like the IRS and Benghazi when a real scandal involving CDC and EPA mishandling the response to this disaster doesn’t seem to be of any interest to them.

  74. “fake scandal” from a partisan is the punchline of the investigate something else setup.

  75. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

It is absolutely disgusting how some on the Left see nothing wrong with the IRS targeting their fellow citizens for political reasons or the incessant lying over Benghazi. Were it a Republican in the White House……

  79. The GOP are trying to decide what ransom to demand for raising the debt ceiling. Apparently the two finalists are reversing the COL for working age military retirees and doing a Medicare “doc fix”. Both are spending policies that Democrats have been asking to be done months, if not years.

It’s like the hostage taker insisting they be arrested and charged with kidnapping before the will release the hostage.🙂

  80. imnotblue Says:

fritz… I commend you. If what you say is true, I think mocking and insulting Republicans (who, according to you, are willing to give Democrats what they want) is a really good strategy. Most Democrats would say, “Perhaps now would be a good time to keep quiet, lest I help contribute to riling the base, and all this ‘good’ goes away.” But you see it as another opportunity to keep hate alive!

Good for you! Be an individual! Walk the path less traveled! Complain no matter what!

  81. ^^What???

  82. I’ll summarize the sarcasm… If you think the Republicans are about to do something that the Democrats like, you might try being supportive instead of insulting or snarky. Perpetual arrogance doesn’t help anyone.

  83. “If you think the Republicans are about to do something that the Democrats like”

^^ No there not. they’re trying to get out of a bind that they put themselves in by saying they were demanding a reward for raising the debt ceiling. Now they are caving and deserve to be mocked.

“you might try being supportive instead of insulting or snarky. Perpetual arrogance doesn’t help anyone.”

^^WTF? blue. Have you ever read this blog?🙂

  84. Yeah Fritz! try being a little more like me.

by the way, anybody but me think the Sochi “mistake” ring was just an asterisk?

  85. So…. The IOC President made a comment during the opening ceremonies against “any form of discrimination” and in favor of tolerance.

All Worldwide viewers except US viewers heard that statement because NBC edited it out. Maybe because Bob Costas has been editorializing on how wonderful Russia is!

Looks like NBC is back to its wonderful editing again!

  86. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

reversing the COL for working age military retirees

So, Fritz, what other promises made to those that enlisted do you want to break? The free health care is gone, replaced by the BS Tricare and the COLA will be 1% below the alleged inflation rate. All because we were stupid enough to sign a check made out to the government reading in the payment line “Up to and including our lives.” Nice to know what our “betters” are thinking.

  87. icemannyr Says:

While I’m not defending the numerous bad things that have happened Russia’s history,
what exactly do you want NBC to do, only talk about what an awful country Russia is and do all negative history segments?

When the Olympics are hosted in the USA are you saying coverage by foreign press of USA history should be negative to?

NBC is not going to spend most of it’s segments trashing the host country of the Olympics.

NBC said they would cover the controversies surrounding the Sochi Olympics.

  88. You can emphasize the marvels of the Russian culture and people without casting a red eye on admiration of Putin which Costa was surprisingly done.

While I’m not defending the numerous bad things that have happened Russia’s history,
what exactly do you want NBC to do, only talk about what an awful country Russia is and do all negative history segments?

It would’ve been better not to have mentioned it at all, rather than look like fools. After all, were Hitler and the N@zis glorified during the Munich coverage in ’72? NO.

“Bad things.” Thirty million of their own people murdered by the regime. That’s more than just bad.

  90. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

  91. Proven lie on today’s RELIABLE SOURCS, Greenwald: “…but today everyone regards Daniel Ellsberg a hero”. As part of the group everyone, I for one regard him a ratfink.

  92. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

“Ratfink” is too mild. He was a fecken traitor.

  93. So that makes at least two of us, Glen.

  94. icemannyr Says:

There’s holding truth to power then there is being a traitor.
Snowden is a traitor and Greenwald is his lacky.

  95. Nixon - niila niihpikiiookwa meentwasiaani Says:

Ice, the “Pentagon Papers” were classified government documents that were stolen by Ellsberg and published in the New York Times. The only beneficiaries were North Vietnam and the USSR, and the act clearly violated the espionage laws. That was in no damn way holding “truth to power.” It was giving the enemy a propaganda coup. He should’ve been tried, convicted, and executed.

Snowden revealed a massive surveillance operation by the NSA against domestic targets in violation of their own charter. In the past, the NSA would use the British or Canadians to spy on U.S. citizens to get around the law. After 9/11, they used the limited lifting of some of the restrictions to go hog wild. And it massively expanded after 2009.

Should Snowden face jail? Yes, if he’s stupid enough to return.

  96. Ellsberg was and is the darling of the Left. To them and their sympathizers, that’s pretty much “everyone”. I confess at the time I broke into his psychiatrist office and pooped in the file cabinet… but they never caught me.
