What’s on your mind?

  1. TWELVE YEARS A SLAVE wins best picture. The current government dependency pushes LIFETIME A SLAVE, but don’t look for that theme out of Hollywood.

  2. Obama one of the few lame duck presidents with less respect in the world than at home. You do know he wasn’t even a particularly good community organizer don’t you?

  3. Who is covering the situation in Ukraine best? Thoughts?

    Joe Wilson was right: http://www.oregonlive.com/health/index.ssf/2014/03/cover_oregon_health_insurance_1.html

I guess the MSM and President Obama owe him an apology, right?

  5. I was impressed CBS has a reporter in the Ukraine military base in Crimea under the ultimatum threat by Russian troops. On CBS THIS MORNING she was standing in front of sandbags protecting a couple Ukrainian soldiers. Not a place I’d want to be if somebody gets trigger-happy.

  6. Everybody knew Joe Wilson was right. Just upset at his rudeness for shouting truth to power. Now I wish he threw a shoe.

  7. Early not hot nomination: MSNBC’s (severe lack of) coverage of the Ukraine crisis. Here’s a list of things I’ve seen when I’ve flipped to MSNBC today: Academy Awards, renewable energy activism, panel talking about an actress on Bates Motel and how Republicans are terrible for calling Obama’s foreign policy blunders out.

Are you honestly expecting cable news discussion here? Only “discussion” that happens here anymore is a day-long echo chamber snarkfest about how liberals are all terrible people and all conservatives are all wonderful people. #yawn

To answer your question though, Al Jazeera America. CNN and FOX News have done a solid job. MSNBC is a joke.

The US is in the terrible position where we need this thug Putin more than he needs us.

He can cause all kinds of problems for us. In Afghanistan, in Syria and Iran, in the Middle East in general. And in Eastern Europe.

Obama made a disastrous – simply disastrous – decision to think that Putin would help us and not use that leverage against us.

I’m not blaming President Obama for the Ukrainian crisis. This is all Putin’s fault. But Obama – more so than Bush – has completely misread Putin’s intentions.

We’re in quite a fix right now.

  10. And all this talk of sanctions against Russia is just that, talk. As Maria Bartaroma pointed out, those sanctions would hurt the US and Europe as hard as Russia, and Russia turning off their gas pipeline to Europe is a real weapon. Unless Putin suddenly gets sensitive to hurt feelings, talk isn’t going to make a dent.

    WARNING: CABLE NEWS DISCUSSION INCOMMING!!!!

Ronan Farrow not exactly lighting it up yet: http://www.deadline.com/2014/02/ronan-farrows-msnbc-programs-slips-in-news-demo-inches-up-with-younger-crowd/

I think the author wants a date!

But get this quote: “Farrow will continue to do what he has been doing for the last 26 years: strike a perfect pitch for the liberal elite”.

Dear Lord: he was picked when he was born to be a perfect pitchman for the liberal elite! This is a writer for a national publication!

I amend my first comment, I think she wants more than a date!

  13. Alan Grayson wife-beater? Look for the raw outrage in MSNBC’s battle to end the war on women.

  14. savefarris Says:

Even better than Alan Grayson: Wife Beater?

In 2012, he chastised his opponent … for beating his wife.

  15. savefarris Says:

    Excellent point from @ByronYork:

Didn’t MediaMatters say its ‘war on Fox is over‘? Number of times ‘Fox’ appears on MMFA homepage right now: 48.

  16. @owillis: @Larry_Kelly u sat + counted? lol

——> @Larry_Kelly: @owillis No, Dylan Byres did. LOL back at you.

    thanks Farris

Sucks when you have to play by your rules, don’t it?

  20. McCain helping MSNBC make something out of nothing. McCain is upset that Cruz said Dole didn’t stand on conservative principles when he ran for POTUS and that’s why he lost. Somehow, McCain turns that into “was he standing on principles when he was injured in WWII?” And, Andrea Mitchell mentions how Dole can’t wave his arms like Cruz can.

Good Gawd. That’s the liberal playbook taking something out of context and baselessly attacking somebody. Typically it’s cuz, racism. This time, it’s anti-military? Who knows.

  21. savefarris Says:

POTUS: Say Michael Sam, seeing that you’re the new face of g^y in the world of sports, you mind stopping by the WH Correspondent’s dinner so I can parade you around and show everyone how tolerant I am?

    Sam: Naw, I’m good.
