  1. I have canceled my subscription to Gawker.

I purchased a two year gift subscription and gave it to Spud.

It is odd that many of the same folks who complain, usually correctly but often hysterically, about Fox News’ shoddy journalistic practices swallowed the Gawker piece hook, line and stinker, er, sinker.

    I question their judgment.

    But not their sincerity.

    Well, sometimes.

  3. erich500 Says:

It’s not even racist. Mexico is a country not a race. They’re making fun of a cultural stereotype not a racial one.

Of course in these times that distinction is ignored. Racism, racism, racism….Accusing someone of ethnocentrism doesn’t carry much weight. In fact, it doesn’t carry any. But yell “Racism” and you’ll get a hearing. And the person on the other end must prove a negative: that he or she isn’t a racist.

    But your point is valid.

  4. farris: By far the dumbest post of the year. If Joe Scarborough wears lederhosen and pretends to drink beer and during Oktoberfest is he anti-German?

  5. maybe if he sings the Horst Wessel Song

  6. Multiple cable news reports today of blood transfusions from the young can give a new lease on life to old people.

    Thinking about it.

  7. Cinco de Drinko…..heh,

    who cares what they think……

  8. Hey, I only use real de Mayo, screw MiracleWhip.

  9. Farris is correct. The outrage machine would be in full effect had FNC done the same shtick. Wrongly. But everything is an excuse to play that card for them.

  10. savefarris Says:

    Fritz, you were saying?

“MSNBC tried its hand at cultural commentary on Monday with a Cinco de Mayo segment featuring a stereotypical portrayal of a stumbling Mexican by a reporter pretending to guzzle tequila straight from the bottle,” Roque Planas wrote for the Huffington Post. The National Association of Hispanic Journalists was among others joining in condemnation, and MSNBC spokeswoman Lauren Skowronski said Tuesday that the network planned to apologize.”

  11. It’s almost not a story because who expects anything otherwise from MSNBC these days.

  12. CBS has hired NBC’s Steve Capus who is rumored be be talking the head job of CBS News. My concern is him screwing up the fine CBS Morning News in the cause of better ratings in the battle with the fluff morning shows.

  13. 97% of scientists who recommend climatic change to their politicians recommend sugarless climate change.

    “motownman Says:

^^’Outnumbered’ is a Republican/conservative version of ‘The View’. I expect it will be quite successful on FNC.

  15. savefarris Says:

    CNN Today:

The only difference is party affiliation. Alas, that makes all the difference.
