The Hazards of Al Sharpton: #25,217

Ok…kind of a low blow to group Al Sharpton’s teleprompter gaffes into one video. On the other hand, I’m surprised no one has done this sooner…

Phil Griffin hiring Sharpton is a lot like McCain selecting Sarah Palin.

I guess it sounded good at the time.

  2. Of all the people on tv, I don’t get how one single person could watch his show.

^^I tend to agree with you about Sharpton and could say the same about Ed, Hannity, Billo or MHP. But their are viewers for every host. I love watching Maddow and Kornacki because they are smart, funny and liberal. You may disagree because you don’t like your hosts smart and funny and that’s OK too.

Sharpton has a built an audience based on his years of advocating for black causes in the same way Hannity has built his viewership on bashing liberals and Democrats or Schultz on backing unions. Different strokes for different folks.

  4. if you’re idea of funny is progressive snark, then you just might be the last of the people watching MSNBC primetime. By all means remind us how smart they are. Pavlovian response depends on reinforcement.

Maddow smart Maddow smart Maddow smart

    Repeat everyone or you’re a h0m0ph0be.

And never ever question why if she’s so smart, why she often says such dumb stuff.

  6. Whatever blue.

except all those folks are trained broadcast professionals. Quibble about their politics all you want, but none of them consistently make the same amateurish broadcasting mistakes.

    Al … not so much.

If you’re a lib, you should be doubly furious that this guy is giving “the enemy” a stick to beat yourself with AND taking up valuable air time from somebody who can make a persuasive argument.

  8. the least objectionable thing about Rev. Al. Is that he speaks like an ignoramus.

^^Sorry but I lack your ability for outrage farris. It’s a hard to get worked up about a TV host screwing up reading the teleprompter. It happens all the time, on every cable news channel, just like chyron errors.

I’m much more offended by blowhards like Ed, Billo and Hannity; but even then I assume they will eventually overstep and be dismissed, much like Bashir and Ratigan (I know he quit but) were last year.

  10. How long has Bill and Sean been there, Fritz? Since there was a FNC. What kind of clue do you have they are going to overstep other than wishful thinking? The Rev. will be preaching from a pulpit in hell first.

  11. joeremi Says:

I swear, you guys can throw a rightwing fit over anything. Politics Nation isn’t my favorite MSNBC show by a longshot, but Rev. Al is a pretty good interviewer, has good guests and topics, and the “we gotcha” bit is amusing.

  12. I can throw a rightwing fit right down the strike zone.

There’s nothing “rightwing” about it. I may agree with much of Sarah Palin’s politics but I’d be first in the outrage line if FNC picked her up to replace Brett Baier or Ed Henry.

    MSNBC: The Place for Professionalism

  14. Al needs to get a pair of the MSNBC “smart-people” glasses.

  15. “I may agree with much of Sarah Palin’s politics but I’d be first in the outrage line if FNC picked her up to replace Brett Baier or Ed Henry.”

^^Why? She’s just as good at asking pointed questions as them.

  16. I agree, Fritz. Never underestimate Sarah.
