The Hazards of Live TV: #25,229

This defies description. Emerson has already apologized and I believe his sincerity in the matter…

You may quote me on this as I will be posting this and taking out an ad in a Birmingham paper. I have clearly made a terrible error for which I am deeply sorry. My comments about Birmingham were totally in error. And I am issuing an apology and correction on my website immediately for having made this comment about the beautiful city of Birmingham. I do not intend to justify or mitigate my mistake by stating that I had relied on other sources because I should have been much more careful. There was no excuse for making this mistake and I owe an apology to every resident of Birmingham. I am not going to make any excuses. I made an inexcusable error. And I am obligated to openly acknowledge that mistake.

Steve

PS. I intend to make a donation to a Birmingham charity.

What’s going to have everyone wondering is where exactly Emerson got his totally incorrect information from…

What’s the over/under on Emerson appearing on FNC again?

  1. The real shame is that you normally expect so much better from her program.

  2. He was wrong on the Birmingham thing, but rest is right on. Sharia courts in London, no go zones in France and London.
Try looking into what locals now call Dearbornistan iin Michigan. Schools ran by Islamists, prayer in high schools that the ACLU is even afraid to touch. Where normally any Christian school would be sued to stop such. City government all ran by Islamists etc.

  3. Geeesh, Bricko! There are no public schools in Dearborn, Michigan being run entirely by “Islamists”, nor are there any school-sanctioned prayers. While Dearborn does have a relatively high Arab population, many are Christian. I’ve only ever heard one person refer to the town as “Dearbornistan”, and he never has anything good to say about blacks, Jews, or Mexicans, either.

That there are ethnic neighbourhoods in and around the Detroit area is practically a tradition and a certainly a source of pride. Ever been to Chicago?

  4. That part is true and has been known for a long time. IN Fact, French officials have acknowledged that their long-standing immigration polices have back-fired, and have been trying to find ways of being more like the US because we’ve not experienced such problems largely because of our “melting pot” culture.

  5. Debbie Schlussel is entitled to her opinions, but is hardly a go-to source of factual information. It is true that US Border Patrol has been busy arresting illegal aliens in Dearborn for the past three decades, but there’s nothing surprising about that since people who aren’t supposed to be here tend to hide-out where they have families. Old-timers tell me that the same was true in Detroit area German and Polish neighbourhoods during the 1940s and 50s.

  6. Regarding that link about Purcell and Stergalas v. Dearborn Public Schools, by the way, if you bother looking up the case you’ll find that the US District Court rendered a summary judgement in favour of the defendant citing “there is no genuine issue as to any material fact”.

In other words, that was proven in federal court to be a load of bs.

  7. Bricko,

Citing Debbie Schlussel as your source does not exactly buttress your argument any. That’s like trying to get non-partisan information on African Americans from the KKK…

  8. I knew we were riding the E Train to Crazytown, but even then it was a surprise to see Debs conducting..😉

  9. “The real shame is that you normally expect so much better from her program.”

^^LOL. Great subtle snark Lynn. I’m jealous.

  10. “Hundreds of ‘No-Go Zones’ Across France Are Off-Limits to Non-Muslims”

I never heard of these ‘no go zones’ before so I did a little research. They’re actually called ‘Sensitive Urban areas’ (ZUS) in France and generally are what Americans would refer to in the US as ghettos.

A ZUS is an area that has high unemployment, low high school graduation, low incomes by residents and large numbers of young people in the population. The original idea was to create opportunities for companies/businesses to create jobs in the ZUS’s by lowering taxes and reducing regulations for them in these areas.

ZUS’s, like ghettos, are also regions of high drug use/drug dealing, high crime rates and organized crime activity. There are no government references to Muslims in the ZUS regions (that I can find) but because many poor Muslims live in many of the ZUS’s some are hot spots for Islamic jihadist recruiting.

A lot of what is happening in some of the ZUS’s now (police avoiding the areas etc.) is like what the US went through in the 60’s in black ghettos and what we are starting to see in certain urban areas in the US today.

Whether ZUS’s are a good idea gone bad is debatable. What is not debatable is that far right anti-Islamists extremists, like Schlussel, have renamed all the ZUS’s police ‘no go zones’, populated them solely with Islamic jihadists, made it appear they are widespread in Europe and the US and used them to scare people on media outlets like FNC. It’s a Muslim version of the New Black Panthers. Be afraid; be very afraid.

  11. My favorite part of this thread is the crazy-eyes look on Pirro’s face. That woman is bonkers mad.

  12. She’s 63…to look that good at that age she’s doing something un-natural to that face…

  13. The Brits are having a lot of fun on Twitter with this.
