  1. Farris: responding to your comment on another thread.

Just wait for the article that tells you Scott Walker brings a brown bag lunch most days. I am guessing he will be criticized because the bag Is not transparent!

  2. Anonymous News Honcho: “I’m hearing rumors that Scott Walker once ripped the tag off a mattress. Quick, send 50 reporters to Madison to investigate!!!”

  3. This morning on Morning Joe, Howard Dean went after Walker for not having a college degree and Donny Deutch was there to provide idiotic inuendo as to why he didn’t graduate.

It’s the left’s playbook. With their noses in the air, they tell you how smart they are and how dumb everyone else is. Rachel Maddow is Rhodes Scholar dontchaknow; and Ms. Will You Quack Like A Duck presides over “nerdland”.

  4. “It’s the left’s playbook. With their noses in the air, they tell you how smart they are and how dumb everyone else is.”

^^LOL! You seem pretty upset about your guys lack of formal education LS. If your this thin skinned about a couple of pundits pulling your chain on MJ this early in the campaign how are you ever going to deal with serious scrutiny of your candidates when the campaign really starts?

  5. I don’t care about his lack of a degree. Nobody should. It’s stupid. I have a degree. Whooptie do. I don’t know where it is, it doesn’t hang on my wall. I don’t even have a pretty frame for it.

He’s missing a piece of paper. He was a semester shy of a piece of paper. Yeah, I couldn’t care less.

I do tire of the left’s constant insecurity. If you’re that bright, you don’t have to run around telling everybody how smaht you are while denigrating everybody else.

  6. savefarris Says:

You seem pretty upset about your guys lack of formal education

You’re right: he should have just refused to release his college transcript at all. Of course, doing so would be the death knell because the MSM would NEVER let anyone get away with that move…

  7. “I do tire of the left’s constant insecurity.”

^^The left are not the ones whining about how the evil left picking on Republican POTUS candidates. No one really cares if Walker has a degree or not they just use the fact he doesn’t to bait his insecure supporters into defending him. And the same goes for his lack of hair. It’s the one thing Christie is good at – excepting his personal flaws.

I think Walker is a shrewd politician. I don’t agree with his ideology or policies but so far he’s run a pretty good campaign. Will he be there next summer , I doubt it but who knows.

This stuff is like the dog stories that plagued Romney early on. They were all about nothing but the media needs something to define a candidate and stuff like this is better than his position on whether evolution is real or not. Oh wait; he doesn’t know if evolution is real or not. Maybe he should have gotten that degree.🙂

  8. Look…….a squirrel

Then we could cover the lack of education of Steve Jobs, Bill Gates….but, oops

  9. Maddow doubled Cooper yesterday in total viewers. Any idea why? Did Maddow have some sort of special?

The numbers for O’Reilly and Megyn are crazy. I used to look at the daily ratings but haven’t in a long time. 3MM viewers is a sh!t ton.

  10. “Maddow doubled Cooper yesterday in total viewers. Any idea why? Did Maddow have some sort of special?”

^^There was nothing special on Maddow and that split seems about right, give or take, at the moment. Cooper usually doesn’t go up against Maddow and lately they’ve been running ‘specials’ (true crime docs and other non news programing etc.) opposite Maddow and, on occasion (usually when the special is salacious) they beat her. Maddow’s numbers are down compared to last year but compared to CNN not so much.

Two to three million viewers for Billo and Kelly are also pretty normal P2 ratings for them recently.

  11. I didn’t know that Brian Williams interned for Jimmy Carter. Though, it doesn’t surprise me. Would surprise me if had interned for Nixon, Ford or Reagan.

Forgive me, I’m not exactly up to speed. Has MSNBC (Maddow and Kornacki in particular) given this the full McDonnell/Christie treatment?

    Full-Court Press?
    Weeks of Endless Speculation?
    Wall-to-Wall Political Obituaries?
A tie-in to the “Culture of Corruption”?

… Any of it? Just curious…

  13. I also missed the part where Maddow ties this one Governor to rampant corruption withing the entire Democrat party and liberal movement. I guess she saves that sort of nonsense for conservative mayors of towns you’ve never heard of.

  14. “… Any of it? Just curious…”

^^Well the story is only a few days old nationally but Maddow had it as her lead story last night. Other shows on MSNBC have covered it as well. Kornacki will probably do a segment on it tomorrow.

The story is really closer to the Mark Stanford or Bob McDonnell ‘scandals’ than Christie’s but even so it’s a little known Governor from a small state.

The big difference is Gov. Kitzhaber has already resigned so the story will wind down pretty quickly and; unlike with the McDonnell/Christie scandals; a
    Full-Court Press?
    Weeks of Endless Speculation?
    Wall-to-Wall Political Obituaries?
A tie-in to the “Culture of Corruption”?.
won’t be happening. But thanks for asking.😉

  15. savefarris Says:

Well the story is only a few days old nationally

Incorrect. The story pre-dates the election.

  16. “Well the story is only a few days old nationally
Incorrect. The story pre-dates the election.”

^^Incorrect. The story broke “NATIONALLY” in early February. Before then it was a local story in Oregon; starting in early October. It couldn’t have been that big deal, even in Oregon, until recently because, despite the accusations, Kitzhaber won his election.

    But thanks for asking.😉

  17. “It couldn’t have been that big deal, … because, despite the accusations, Kitzhaber won his election.”

Amazing how that happens: the Media buries the story and the corrupt Democrat gets elected! What an amazing coincidence!

What was it exactly, other than party affiliation, that kept the National Media from giving it the McDonnell/Mark Foley/Sanford treatment?

  18. “What was it exactly, other than party affiliation, that kept the National Media from giving it the McDonnell/Mark Foley/Sanford treatment?”

^^Well McDonnell and Sanford were POTUS wannabees from big important states. McDonnell eventually will go to jail and Sanford acted crazy and was the subject of much ridicule. Foley was a high profile congressman from another important state who happened to like young boys. The thing that all three did was keep their scandals alive by refusing to bow out quickly after their stories broke nationally.

Kitzhaber resigned within days of the story breaking nationally and that and the fact he is mostly unknown to the media outside Oregon; as are nearly all the Governors of northwest states.

I’m really sorry you feel hard done by here but I don’t see this story having legs unless FNC and the right wing blogs want to make it a cause celeb and that doesn’t seem toe the case here.

  19. Fuuny isn’t it how Mark Foley was not found guilty of anything! Funny isn’t it how Ted Stevens was found guilty of anything! (But what a shame, the guy was DEAD! when that happened!)
Funny isn’t it how Mark Sanford wasn’t found guilty of anything!
Funny isn’t it that Scott Walket wasn’t found guilty of anything!
Funny isn’t is that Chris Christie wasn’t found guilty of anything?

It only takes an idiot to NOT see a pattern here!

So, who posts here regularly sees a pattern and who doesn’t?

    Just asking!

  20. Please, please, tell me this is just made up sh*t and not real!
It’s Saturday night and I don’t want to believe this is real.

    http://www.mediaite.com/online/brian-williams-2012-gawker-email-should-have-been-early-warning-sign/

  21. The Williams story brings up a not so interesting question… What will happen to his daughter? Sure she’s got HBO, but getting the Peter Pan gig was far bigger. Will NBC continue to lend her a helping hand (as was suggested), or will she be forgotten now that there is no nepotism to reward?

Again, this is not very interesting… But it’s, uh, something.

  22. NBC obviously won’t invite her to star when they inevitably remake South Pacific, but HBO is unaffiliated and presumably doesn’t give a ****.

  23. ^^^Must be a real slow news day?🙂

Read the first article and see if you can guess what the graffiti was.

Now read this article and watch the video and see what the graffiti really was.

    http://www.channel3000.com/news/police-respond-to-rash-of-derogatory-graffiti-complaints/31272850

This is how our local newspaper scrubs the news. Wonderful, wonderful, liberal Madison!

  25. When the top story at 10am ET on one cable news channels is Obama admin won’t say “Radical Islam” it must be a slow news day.

  26. I just don’t watch MSNBC much anymore after MJ (except for the occasional Andrea Mitchell). So, I didn’t realize Tamron Hall still had her own show. I thought she had moved over to NBC.

Anyway, she’s on NBC in the morning and MSNBC? Can anyone continue to plausibly make the case that NBC and MSNBC are separate and distinct entities?

Chuck Todd hosts MTP. His panels routinely consist of MSNBC personalities and guests. You have the Tamron Hall situation. NBC personnel make appearances on NBC fairly regularly.

I just don’t know what NBC is thinking. This does not help their brand. And, right now, their brand sucks.

  27. Ice:

It’s turning into a pretty big deal. A kosher deli is attacked and the Admin calls it “random” and goes out of their way to note that there were probably people in there other than Jews.

21 Christians are beheaded in Egypt – because they are Christians. And, the admin puts out a statement about the 21 “Egyptian citizens”. No mention that they were Christians or that they were killed for being Christians. Or that they were killed by Islamists.

It’s one of the oddest things I’ve ever seen. It’s certifiably delusional. If a bunch of white people beheaded 21 blacks from California and stated it was for being black – would the admin issue a statement about the killing of 21 California citizens? Of course not.

This admin has a serious problem. They are living in a state of delusion. And, you can bet they are going to be asked about it today and will be forced (again) to issue some mealy mouthed clarification just like they had to last week.

  28. I can understand the concern however for me I’m more concerned about what the U.S. is going to do to besides the air strikes to fight ISIS than what words the administration uses in press releases and at press conferences.

  29. “I just don’t know what NBC is thinking. This does not help their brand. And, right now, their brand sucks.”

^^Well I suppose NBC could just not use anyone who ever appeared on MSNBC. Or they could just shut down MSNBC and not do news. But then there would be only CNN for you to whine about here week after week. And what fun would that be?

  30. Well, plenty of people here have stated continuously that there is no correlation between NBC & MSNBC other than the three letters. And, it’s just not true. If MSNBC wants to continue being as hard left as they are, NBC should do more to differentiate themselves.

I know you like MSNBC but I think they really hurt NBC News. I no longer watch NBC and much of that has to do with the crazy that comes out of MSNBC. I watch CNN more than any of the cable nets and I watch ABC on Sunday morning.

  31. I get that, Ice. And, it makes sense. I’m “more” interested in those things as well. But the complete refusal to state what’s going on borders on delusion. Calling the kosher deli attack “random” and the 21 Christians “citizens” is something that I can not understand. It simply doesn’t make any sense.

  32. Well, as the saying goes, “Armies don’t fight wars; nations do.”

If the President wants us to fight this movement, please tell us who we are fighting. There’s clearly (to me, at least) an Islamic component or element behind the people we’re fighting; the President has to, carefully I understand, acknowledge it.

Everyone’s talking about this piece in the Atlantic: “What ISIS Really Wants.” The author may have it all wrong; but it’s the first in-depth piece I’ve seen as to what attracts Muslims to the movement. Pretty worrisome.

    Here: http://www.theatlantic.com/features/archive/2015/02/what-isis-really-wants/384980/

  33. “Well, plenty of people here have stated continuously that there is no correlation between NBC & MSNBC other than the three letters.”

^^The correlation is that MSNBC is part of the NBC family but that’s it. I don’t watch NBC except for MTP, and the occasional special or sports show so I really don’t care who reports for them or who hosts their shows (except for MTP).

“I think they really hurt NBC News.”

^^I don’t watch NBC News so it matters not to me who they use on air.

Look it’s nice you want to be a concern troll about NBC News, being all worried that MSNBC might harm their reputation, but really MSNBC personnel appearing on NBC News, or Today for that matter, is the least of their problems at the moment.

  34. I’m not trying to be a “concern troll”. I think it’s an issue. An issue Tim Russert would have addressed if he were still around. Russert was the best in the business. Now it’s Tapper. After that, most are variations of the same.

Sorry I brought up the MSNBC connection on a cable news blog.

  35. It’s turning into a pretty big deal. A kosher deli is attacked and the Admin calls it “random” and goes out of their way to note that there were probably people in there other than Jews.

No, it’s turning into a big deal for the far-right which a bizarre obsession over what words are used. It doesn’t matter that he calls a terrorist attack a terrorist attack or a terrorist a terrorist, Conservatives are demanding he say “Islamic Terror” and “Radical Islam”.

“Obama won’t say ‘Radical Islam'” is the lead story on Fox News. Every. Single. Day. Now, THAT is irrational behavior.

President Bush danced around saying “Radical Islam” and “Islamic Terror” as well. He often said “evildoers” or “extremists”. So, no, it’s not an “Obama” thing. It’s a smart thing. We need Arab partners in the coalition to fight against ISIL. Going on TV and saying “An American was killed today by RADICAL ISLAM” instead of “An American was killed today by ISIL” is just going to piss off the Arab partners we need.

Fox News knows this. They just don’t care.

  36. “President Bush danced around saying “Radical Islam” and “Islamic Terror” as well.”

No, he didn’t. He called it what it was while stressing that it represented a small portion of worldwide muslims.

He wouldn’t have called an attack on a Kosher deli “random” and he wouldn’t have referred to 21 Christians being murdered because of their faith, simply as “citizens”.

It’s not a Fox News problem. It’s not a far-right problem. Or any other bogeyman problem. It’s an Obama administration problem. And, FNC, the far right, the Koch Brothers, Grover Norquist, Megyn Kelly, Rush Limbaugh. Karl Rove, Chic fil a (or whoever the bogyeman of the day is) aren’t the only one noticing.

  37. It’s a bizarre obsession to play down these murderous terrorist acts as if they the average problem a big city mayor faces. POTUS has been wrong, consistently. ISIS is the J.V. team. Yemen is a success. Iraq is one of the most successful stories of this admin. Libya. The Arab Spring.

Obama has a worse record than a broken clock.

  38. Bush often said “Evildoers” and “Act of terror” and that the “Act of terror” doesn’t “Represent Islam”.

President Obama called a terrorist attack an “Act of terror” and Fox News flipped their cans and cried for weeks about, “He said ‘act of terror’ instead of ‘terrorist attack’.”

Now, it’s, “He said ‘terrorist attack’ instead of ‘Radical Islam’.”

Fox News has been obsessed with vocabulary for a long time.

And Obama DID call the Kosher Deli attack an “Anti-Semitic attack” and a “terrorist attack”.

  39. “And Obama DID call the Kosher Deli attack an “Anti-Semitic attack” and a “terrorist attack”.”

    No he didn’t.

    But, Fox News!

  40. And to pretend that Bush didn’t use phrases like Islamic terror or call out terrorism committed in the name of Islam for what it is is just another case of your re-writing history. It really is just silly. And absurd on its face.

  41. I honestly don’t get what the big deal is over Carol on CNN asking a republican tough questions.
If the point his she has personal bias then I ask is to ok that FNC has anchors who do the same thing to liberal guests?
    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/cnns-carol-costello-battles-gop-rep-are-you-suggesting-obamas-a-traitor/

  42. And now, Obama calls the murdered Egyptians “Christians” and FOX News is outraged and wants to know why.

This obsession has gotten beyond bizarre.

  43. No he didn’t.

    Um, yes he did.

“Anti-Semitic attacks like the recent terrorist attack on a kosher supermarket in Paris pose a threat that extends beyond the Jewish community.”

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2015/01/22/statement-president-un-general-assembly-meeting-rise-anti-semitism

“The recent terrorist attacks in Paris serve as a painful reminder of our obligation to condemn and combat rising anti-Semitism in all its forms, including the denial or trivialization of the Holocaust.”

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2015/01/27/statement-president-international-holocaust-remembrance-day-and-70th-ann

  44. Ice, Republicans are used to Fox News asking them questions about how Democrats are bad and evil and hate America and want the Muslim Islamic Radical Terrorists to win.

  45. “I honestly don’t get what the big deal is over Carol on CNN asking a republican tough questions.”

For me, it’s not the tough questions, it’s the quality of the questions. The questions were based on false premises. I really don’t think she understood what she was asking.

She immediately went to the “traitor” card which is an extremely loaded question. It’s not a serious question; it’s a question designed to make headlines and/or to be antagonistic. It’s not a question a serious person, like Blitzer or Tapper, would ask.

As I’ve stated numerous times, I watch more CNN than the other cable nets. But, Costello is sort of a side show, similar to Don Lemon. Whereas Lemon has become a sideshow because of the silly things he says, Costello is a sideshow because she’s basically a liberal activist.

Anyway, I thought the Republican guest handled the questions well. He wasn’t angry, combative or antagonistic. Her questions weren’t “tough”, they were silly, IMO.

  46. Tapper just asked Carney why POTUS won’t use term radical islam. Carney answers with the typical theoretical stuff.

  47. This was the instance that everyone was talking about. You do understand there is a BIG difference between a written statement versus a spoken statement?

“Look, the point is this: my first job is to protect the American people. ” This is how the transcript paragraph starts you need to read. Near point #7 in the transcript.

    http://www.vox.com/a/barack-obama-interview-vox-conversation/obama-foreign-policy-transcript

And here is the back and forth between Jon Karl and Josh Ernest.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/white-house-shooting-kosher-market-paris-random/story?id=28871389

Hopefully, this pointsout to you in a manner you can comprehend what the he** everyone is talking about.

  48. The Obama Administration is so determined to try and separate Islam from the extremists and their acts that they are twisting themselves into the proverbial knot. Thus the President describing the attack at the kosher store in Paris as “random”.

I understand the thinking behind the strategy. To wit, by removing the cause of Islam from the extremists then the extremists look like, well, just extremists. They have no cause, they have no purpose, they have no goals. By removing one of the world’s great religions from their cause, their cause diminishes. In fact, it disappears.

Equally important, by separating Islam from their cause it helps us rally non-extremist Muslims to our cause. They are not fighting against fellow Muslims along with non-Muslims; they are fighting the takfir or apostates. This is, ironically, what the extremists say they are doing: killing apostates.

It makes sense on one level but it leads to some ridiculously tortured rhetoric.

  49. Agree with much of that, erich. The problem is, like much of liberalism, it’s based on theory dreamed up in a bubble and not real world practical.

This theory could conceivably work if the movement was tiny. But, it’s not. Which makes this even more ironic. In the real world, the Obama admin types attempt to smear entire groups based on actions of individuals or perceived actions. See the NRA/law abiding gun owners when there is a shooting; or, the police when there is an incident.

Their “dare not say Islam” strategy is childish and silly because: a) the terrorists spell out exactly what their motives are; b) some of the groups have “Islamic” in their name; c) many terrorists are recruited out of radical mosques; d) most of these terrorists follow strict teachings of Islam and raise children to believe the same; e) support for these groups is way more popular amongst the muslim community than it should be.

You simply can’t credibly think that one American POTUS refusing to say what it is will have a positive effect. Especially when it’s a POTUS who believed simply that his election alone would change the hearts of radical Islam. He truly thought, like many liberals, that all the evils in the world were the result of George W. Bush being born. Obama has spent the last 6 years living on another planet. Dude doesn’t have a clue.
