Nancy Snyderman and NBC Part Company…

The timing of this is very odd that it raises questions as to why now? Newsday’s Verne Gay writes about Nancy Snyderman leaving NBC News…

Dr. Nancy Snyderman, TV’s best-known medical reporter and a network news veteran of nearly three decades, has been dropped by NBC News. Her abrupt departure follows an appearance during a Feb. 22 “Nightly News” segment about peanut allergies, in which she seemed somewhat disoriented and stumbled over her words.

NBC declined to offer reasons for Snyderman’s departure.

In a statement, Snyderman said, in part, “I am stepping down from my position as Chief Medical Editor at NBC News.”

Lots of writers are noting what happened on Snyderman’s last appearance. Odd that it didn’t blow up all over the internet like what happened with Greg Jarrett. I didn’t even know about this until I read it today. Can’t say the same about Jarrett.

  1. Mr. Lack at work already?

^^I hadn’t heard about this incident either so I checked it out and I can see why it wasn’t such a big deal in the MSM. She does look and act a bit weird but, IMO, calling her drunk is a bit of an overreach. She could easily have some legitimate excuse for her appearance and there is certainly no comparison to Jarrett who was obviously drunk.

As to timing; I expect this move is just the result of a buildup of recent incidents, that she has, at least to me, an imperious and hectoring on air presence and, as I understand it, that NBC has her replacement ready to go.
