Piers Morgan’s Ratings…

The New York Times’ Brian Stelter writes about Piers Morgan’s ratings…

Mr. Morgan had fewer total viewers in November than Mr. King had the previous November, as well, 620,000 versus 635,000. The decreases are modest, at best. “He’s basically tied” for the month, versus the same month last year, a CNN spokeswoman wrote in an e-mail message on Tuesday.

The spokeswoman noted that for the year overall, Mr. Morgan has averaged 28 percent more viewers ages 25 to 54 than Mr. King did last year, and 10 percent more total viewers.

But CNN’s other prime time program, “Anderson Cooper 360,” has posted stronger gains this year than Mr. Morgan’s interview program, which is called “Piers Morgan Tonight.”

The ratings are worth noting because Mr. King’s ratings were nearly universally recognized as unacceptably low for CNN last year, and because Mr. Morgan’s ratings are trending downward.

  1. I get sick of hearing how old people like me are discounted by the ratings. We buy stuff too and not just Polygrip. I even have one of them Walkman things.

  2. If CNN is serious about beating MSNBC in primetime, they ought to have another original show in primetime. MSNBC was pathetic when it replayed Countdown at 10 PM and only beat CNN each hour of primetime by launching an original program at 10. Why is no one pointing out how pathetic it is for CNN to be doing the same as MSNBC did?

Piers Morgan is a real POS, and deserves low ratings, esp. after his recent comments as to how Sarah Palin should apologize to Congresswoman Giffords.

For what – for using the word “target” just like everyone else campaigning has said before and AFTER? The dems have been their most vitriolic this year, and Morgan needs to be deported and off of our airwaves (or cable systems, or whatever).
