The Hazards Of Live TV: #25,199

Uh…binder clips? I thought maybe they were holding some wiring in place except I didn’t see any wiring (though it’s hard to see anything in detail on this notepad). So, what’s their purpose? Too make the dress tighter?

  1. Why did I know that you had to be talking about Fox?

  2. “Why did I know that you had to be talking about Fox?”

    ^^Funny I had the same thought. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. They’d put them in St Pauli Girl outfits, if it wasn’t too obvious.

  4. This is a common trick used on mannequins and models to make dresses fit better.

  5. ๐Ÿ˜€ Which one is she? …

  6. Every model you see in every magazine, catalog has these clips on their clothing. My daughter did some modeling and she was only 5 years old and they did this!

You should see what they do to clothing on the inside for the runway!

Nothing is as it seems on TV!

  7. People can say it’s common all they want, but FNC got busted making Ainsley’s dress tighter. That sounds about right.

  8. Grandpa Dave Says:

Binder clips; good idea. A lot neater that gaffer’s tape.

  9. Those clips are great for reclosing bags, btw. Much better than the plastic “chip clips” that you get at Walmart or a dollar store.

    “Binders full of women…”

^ FNC got busted making Ainsleyโ€™s dress tighter.

    Got a problem with that?

  12. imnotblue Says:

    Perhaps the zipper broke?

Oh, and Laura’s 100% plus another bonus 100% correct on binder clips as bag clips. Get the big ones to close cereal bags, and small ones to close cracker sleeves. Love ’em.

  13. Motown, as an Ainsley fan, shouldn’t you want her treated as a serious journalist? Not for T&A, like FNC uses her

  14. motownman Says:

I don’t think the clips keep her from being treated as a serious journalist. The women at Fox, and CNN, and MSNBC, etc., all know how the game is played. I admire Ainsley for many reasons, her beauty being just one.

  15. motownman Says:

After working her normal shift, the fact she was filling in at the last minute for Heather Nauert, who unexpectedly took the day off beause her family dog died, is to be commended. Ainsley often has done that. The people at Fox know they can depend on her.

  16. A couple of years ago, she showed a ridiculous amount of cleavage on F&FW. So much so, that one of her co-anchors commented and the cleavage was gone after a break. Add this and her journalism credentials come into question

  17. imnotblue Says:

    @jj

Why is it that according to the left, a beautiful woman can’t be simultaneously sexy and smart? You guys seem to believe it’s an “either/or” game.

Unless you’re talking about the latest Hollywood starlet to endorse a Democrat. Then she’s “brilliant” and “sexy.”

    It’s pretty insulting.

    #WarOnWomen

  18. Who says I’m on the left?

Having a woman use clips to tighten her dress is not insulting to women? You would think Ainsley would find it insulting being used like that.

  19. No one would ever have known if Ainsley had not been filling in for Heather. On F&FF, she always is positioned straight into the camera, not off to the side like the newsreader.
jjis talks as if Ainsley is the only woman at Fox who ever has worn a low cut dress or a miniskirt. One problem with the incident he cites is Clayton and Dave were acting like a couple of horny 12-year olds, as they always did when working with Ainsley.
And as far as exploiting women, tell me ABC and NBC never took advantage of a chance to show off the legs of your girl Amy Robach.
That doesn’t make her any less of a professional as it does Ainsley. Hypocrite.

  20. Yes, we should totally excuse the pornification of women in news media that FNC pioneered because everybody else does it now, too. Brilliant.

Look, I like a hot girl as much as the next guy, but I have an internet connection..they’re really not hard to find. FNC has turned the cable news landscape into a “hottest chick” contest, which is how you get a “fitness expert” accusing the president of paying out of his own pocket to support a “Muslim museum” on F&F Weekend.

  21. motownman Says:

    Who is excusing it?
    It’s the way it is.
Face it, cable news is as much entertainment as much as news.
It used to bother me the line between news and entertainment was getting blurred but then I came to realize it’s like the back line in the batter’s box getting obliterated by the leadoff man. That ship sailed a long time ago.

  22. Motown, the way FNC uses women is far different than all the other networks. Leg chair on The FIVE or RedEye., the oiled up legs, the no pants policy they seem to have for the women

imnotblue kind of excused it. with his #waronwomen. Guess not wanting a woman treated as a sex object is insulting now.

  23. There are too many blondes on TV.

  24. Spud tweeted the other night about how there was clearly a light mounted under Megyn Kelly’s desk. I wonder what engineer (or whatever) got to perform that creepy little installation.

Y’all can defend it all you want, because you like it, but I swear to God, don’t even play this “War on Women” crap. You don’t give a rat’s ass about their “qualifications”, or opportunities for women in the news. You care that they fill out the dress, and that’s all Fox cares about. Beyond that, spare me.

  25. Since I’ve never had a job that required me to wear a skimpy dress under bright lights and high-def cameras, I can’t dismiss the possibility that those clips are for some non-sex-ifying strategic purpose. I’m sure she fills out the thing just fine without them.

So my question is, how in the bloody ‘el is she supposed to sit down with that thing wedged down there?

  26. “So my question is, how in the bloody โ€˜el is she supposed to sit down with that thing wedged down there?”

Al: I don’t think she is supposed to sit down – or turn around – or bend over. ๐Ÿ™‚
