Cheap Shot? Or Not?

The Business Insider’s Gillian Reagan gets all excited about FBN talking Tila Tequilla as the Goldman Sachs news broke. I didn’t see this as I found out about Goldman by channel hopping to CNBC after the story broke but I have watched FBN cover this story quite a lot today. Though I did miss this Hazard of Live TV entrant

When the huge Goldman Sachs story broke this morning, Fox Business Network was airing an interview with reality star Tila Tequila on how she turned her fame into a business.

Here’s the embarrassing interview, which they left on screen for quite some time while every other network was covering the Goldman news.

A few of our sources told us they stayed on the interview for awhile before Charlie Gasparino swooped in for commentary.

And just who might those “sources” be…hmmmmmm?

  1. Telia Tequila was the tease used through out the morning. It’s not like she isn’t an example for being famous for being famous, and “making money” from being well famous.

I don’t know why they didn’t break in right away maybe they were waiting for confirmation on some specific of the Goldman Sachs charges?

  2. Actually, FBN hit the Goldman news right as it broke – may have even been first. they did about 7 minutes on the topic, with floor reaction from the NYSE and all. then they went to break, came back with a 1:30 reader on the Goldman news, then squeezed the Tila segment in right at the end of the show.

So, they didnt avoid it, wait to air it, or anything. they hit it hard when it first broke just like everyone else.

  3. why are they interviewing Tila Tequila in the first place, is my question? I don’t get FBN on my cable (yeah I hear you Cavuto, DEMAND IT), but seems like I keep hearing about them interviewing people that have nothing to do with business news and about whom I would prefer to remain completely ignorant.

  4. It’s not worth it, in our opinion. From that pointless “Happy Hour” show (complete with Rebecca Gomez falling out of her dresses while perched on a bar stool) to some of the dubious FNC people they put on the air, we tend to skip it.

  5. You, with the dresses. Obsessed, we think you are.

  6. Normally, we don’t notice wardrobe. But that’s only if it’s professional and appropriate. When it’s not, it tends to catch attention. Deal with it.

  7. — When it’s not, it tends to catch attention —

Bast@rds. I’ll bet they do it on purpose..

then squeezed the Tila segment in right at the end of the show.

It was the tease Imus asked Varney what he had coming up he listed what they were going to talk about and he mentioned Tila Tequila was a guest. Stuart Varney brought it up a couple of more times as in stay tuned for….

why are they interviewing Tila Tequila in the first place, is my question?

The reasoning for the interview, she has made money for being famous $$$ not for singing, dancing, acting etc….and she filled him in on her back ground. He asked if she was religious? did she come from a religious family? She answered that she wasn’t religious.

  9. We know you’re trying to be funny, laura, but they do dress certain women provocatively in order to catch interest from the lower males who’d otherwise change the channel.
