Another O’Reilly “controversy’ Brewing…

The Huffington Post’s Nicholas Graham writes about Bill O’Reilly allegedly comparing Homosexuality to Al Queda.

O’Reilly’s guest Jane Skinner goes on to explain that the ad is part of an overall campaign titled “Come as you are.” Cue O’Reilly’s foot to head towards his mouth: “OK. Do they have an al Qaeda ad, you know, come as you are? You know?”

Ok, we know O’Reilly can put his foot in his mouth on occasion (Malmedy, anyone?) but I would point out that the quip O’Reilly made, which is the cause of all this controversy, came as a response to Skinner stating that McDonald’s was doing a wide ad campaign targeting a variety of groups and not just gays. So before everyone goes ape…well…okay…despite the fact that some have already gone ape…over this statement, you need to look at it in terms of the context it was made in. Was it still a stupid comment to make? Of course. But that’s O’Reilly. Ready, shoot, aim appears to be his mantra on occasion. But in this case I just can’t get as worked up over this as I have over some of O’Reilly’s more unforgivably insensitve remarks…

This is such BS O’Reilly was talking about McDonald’s ad campaign not gays..but don’t let facts get in the way of the FOX and O’Reilly bashing.

  2. O’Reilly’s producers seem to have a knack for setting up segments in which he, or some of his more obnoxious guests, have the opportunity to say crass things about gay people.

  3. Anyone seeking out reasons to be offended will find reasons to be offended. I bet these are the same twits who were always telling on their classmates in third grade, “Yer gettin’ re-PORT-ed. Yer gettin’ re-PORT-ed.” Grow up.

Bill-O is a racist homophobe who hates kittens. Wait.. It was obviously a clumsy attempt to ask how many ‘controversial’ groups MacDonalds was going to target before the ad campaign was over. Yawn.

The real head-turner in that segment was Skinner informing the grownups that Lady Gaga is talented. My daughter insisted I would love her CD, so I bought it. She’s right, that crazy-woman can sing.

Lady Gaga is freaky looking as anything… but she’s got a set of pipes on her and can sing a catchy tune!

    The moderation here is g@y.

  8. ^ Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

    Nothing to see here…

If it was such a big flap he would’ve cut the segment and not let it air.
