HLN Announces Weekend Show with Money Coach Clark Howard

Clark Howard Debuts Jan. 3 to Empower Viewers to ‘Save More, Spend Less and Avoid Getting Ripped Off!’

HLN has announced that nationally syndicated radio show host and money coach Clark Howard will debut a new weekend program on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009. Every week, Clark Howard will help viewers make smart financial decisions in all aspects of their lives as they face an increasingly dire economy. Howard’s mantra each show: Help viewers “save more, spend less and avoid getting ripped off!”

Clark Howard will air Saturdays and Sundays at 6 a.m., noon and 4 p.m. (ET). Two 30-minute shows will air back-to-back, featuring the best calls from Howard’s daily national radio program, The Clark Howard Show.

“We’re proud to add Clark to our HLN weekend lineup, particularly in a time when so many consumers are wondering what’s next for our economy,” said Ken Jautz, executive vice president of CNN Worldwide. “Clark is not only genuinely interested in helping people manage their money but is a straight shooter who we believe will help cut through the clutter and offer viewers the financial insights they need.”

Each show will include a “Money Coach” segment, where Howard profiles finances of individual callers to reveal the best ways for them to take control of their money. “Clark’s Consumer Tip of the Day” will offer viewers easy-to-understand, practical advice on how to save money daily, while “Clark’s Travel Tips” will offer “insider” travel tips.

“I’m so excited to give HLN viewers the opportunity to learn how to take control of their wallets,” Howard said. “We’re in tough times, and the more you know, the more power you have.”

Leading up to the launch of his show, Howard will provide reports on HLN to help viewers save money during the holiday season.

Clark Howard will have an online presence at http://www.CNN.com/ClarkHoward, allowing viewers and users to submit questions and to interact with him across multiple platforms. The site will also include Web-exclusive segments and useful links.
