Ed Henry Bolts CNN for FNC…

Deadline Hollywood’s Nellie Andreeva scoops that CNN’s Chief White House Correspondent Ed Henry is jumping to FNC where he’ll have the same position…

CNN’s Senior White House correspondent Ed Henry is jumping ship. Fox News Channel is expected to announce later today that they have signed Henry as their Chief White House correspondent. He will take over a position most recently shared by Wendell Goler and Mike Emanuel, who are expected to get promotions. Henry is the second major CNN journalist and on-air talent to defect to Fox News since HLN topper Ken Jautz took over as CNN Worldwide president, following the January move of John Roberts.

Major defection from CNN. Major steal for FNC which finally fills the void created by Major Garrett’s departure. FishbowlDC has to be positively furious that Deadline got the scoop and/or leak…

Wendell Goler has been promoted to Senior White House and Foreign Affairs correspondent; Mike Emanuel has been named Chief Congressional correspondent; James Rosen becomes Chief Washington correspondent; and Carl Cameron continues as Chief Political correspondent, covering congressional, gubernatorial, and presidential elections for FOX News.

  1. I was betting some time ago that Wendell Goler would have this gig. He sure seems qualified so maybe he didn’t want it or maybe somebody just doesn’t think it’s the right spot for him. I think the job requires an awful lot of spontaneous travel, although it seems like he’s doing that anyway.

Or maybe FNC had “feelers” out even before Major Garret stepped down and were already set on picking-off Ed Henry.
